#GivingTuesday celebrates Cheetah Breeding

Each year, hundreds of organizations come together on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to celebrate the giving that helps uplift and support their communities, missions and more. #GivingTuesday provides individuals the opportunity, after the passing of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, to kick off the holiday giving season and inspires people to collaborate in improving local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes that they support.

Wildlife Safari is a 501(c)(3) organization which relies on ticket sales, private donations and foundational giving. Unlike some zoos and aquariums, Wildlife Safari does not receive any public or tax funds.

“Wildlife Safari relies on our incredible community of supporters to not only continue being a premier wildlife conservation and care organization,” says a Wildlife Safari Spokesperson, “but to continue to offer amazing advancements in animal conservation like the newly expanded Tiger Oasis- which will  bring a Sumatran tiger breeding program to the park- or to aid in our support of numerous other international conservation initiatives like Cheetah Conservation Botswana, the International Elephant Foundation and many more.”

Wildlife Safari is the most successful cheetah breeding center in the United States and boasts some of the most interactive animal experiences around. The park welcomes over 200,000 individuals to Southern Oregon per year, and holds top accreditation for animal care and conservation through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

“At Wildlife Safari, we believe that personal interactions with wildlife help to establish a life-long bond between human and nature. We also believe in wide-open spaces for the animals in our care, and visitors can encounter and appreciate wildlife in African plains, interpretive wetlands, sprawling North American canyons and Asian gardens- all from the comfort of their own vehicles with a quick trip through Wildlife Safari’s 420 developed acres.”

#GivingTuesday gives individuals the chance at any level to join in Wildlife Safari’s mission of conservation and education. Those donating to the #GivingTuesday Campaign will allow Wildlife Safari to continue in their goals to connect humans with nature.

Close up encounters inspire on #GivingTuesday

Last year, millions of people in 98 countries came together to give back and support the causes they believe in through #GivingTuesday’s global campaigns. Over $177 million was raised online to benefit a tremendously broad range of organizations and much more was given in volunteer hours, donations of food & clothing, and acts of kindness.

“We have been incredible inspired by the generosity in time, efforts and ideas that have brought our concept for a worldwide movement into reality,” said Henry Timms, founder of #GivingTuesday. “As we embark on our sixth year of #GivingTuesday, we are encouraged by the early response from partners eager to continue making an impact in this global conversation.”

Those interested in joining Wildlife Safari’s #GivingTuesday campaign can donate on #GivingTuesday this year held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Each donation to Wildlife Safari’s #GivingTuesday campaign is tax deductible and all donors will receive additional information for year-end tax purposes.

Please consider joining us in our mission to support wildlife.
